Nashville Predators
You'd think this would be the easiest post in the world to write but with work and what not it's been quite difficult to get this up. The Nashville Predators are not only our Central Division Rivals, but they are also my cousins favorite team. Needless to say we get into quite a few arguments over this. When you look at the Nashville Predators of last year and compare them to the Predators of this year I don't really think there is any comparison. Last year they had Paul Kariya, Kimmo Timonen, and at the trade deadline picking up Peter Forsberg, this year when you look at their team you don't really see any of those "stars" but their young guys really stepped up last year and I am sure this year they will have only improved. There are so many reasons why I hate the Preds, Jordin Tootoo, the fact that we lost every game that we played them last season. But, I have a lot of faith that my boys will in fact win the series with the Nashville Predators this season. Mainly because they lost their fan favorite goaltender Vokoun to the Florida Panthers. They lost Paul Kariya, Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell, Sheldon Brookbank (who is ours now), Vitali Vishnevski. Their team lost a lot of people, but they had some significant signings including Radek Bonk, Martin Gelinas, Jed Ortmeyer, and Greg de Vries. Still with losing their Captain, Paul Kariya, and Hartnell they are going to be a much worse team come October.

Cyclones Get a New Affiliate.
And, it's the Nashville Predators. You have got to be kidding me. Seriously?! Why? First my cousin, now my ECHL team?! Can I cheer for these guys anymore? Does that make me a traitor? My heart hurts. Seriously?!
“Playing in a city with a strong hockey history, we think our players will be able to develop as professionals and experience a winning environment under Chuck Weber,” said Mike Santos, Director of Hockey Operations for the Predators. “We are confident that those Cyclones who are called upon will contribute consistently to the success of the Milwaukee Admirals. The Predators are excited to add Cincinnati to our developmental system.”
“The Nashville Predators are a solid team that has become one of the premier teams in the Western Conference,” Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. “There is a core of young players that want to develop their talent and graduate to the next level. We are anxious to welcome them and get them started in that direction.”

Sharks and Preds liveblog
PREGAME
Well that is....if the Sabres and Islanders game would get over. I'm listening to NHL radio to make sure I miss nothing haha...so no worries people!!
Uh I can hardly hear the announcer...this is gonna be brutal...please VS put on the Sharks game...:(
They are announcing the starting line ups...come on freaking Sabres...get off of my tv!!!
FIRST PERIOD
Uhm...so apparently a few seconds in there was an icing call...against the Preds...I'm sorry guys this is gonna get rough...if it continues to go like this. People are getting boo'd but I dunno who.
Stick save made by Vokoun by the way the announcers said it...it was a doozy...and apparently the Isles game is over...so now hopefully the Sharks game will show up after these darn commercials.
Cheech had a good chance? I wouldn't know...still nothing on my tv DAMN YOU VERSUS DAMN YOU!!!
Offsides against the Sharks...and apparently McGoo made a bad non call. My mom is listening to 4 minutes of Sexy
15:47 THE GAME IS ON!!!
15:30 Bernier is in the line up and Radulov is suspended! I love that lil Bernier guy. This is going to be such a great game. I love Ronnie Wilson.
14:41 Tootoo just took a big hit...could thing...someone needs to do it...Nabby is making some great saves...and Patty is taking it back up. Ouch....what a bunch of hits. Toots is on a line with Kariya and Legwand what the HELL!?!
13:30 Commercial break I need a snack...GO SHARKS GO!
12:43 Sharks checking line is out against Foppa...interesting...very interesting...at least it's not with Tootoo.
11:56 GO SHARKS GO!
**So I just got my Hockey News and on the back it says Sidney Crosby bandwagon seats still available...I freakin hate Crosby**
8:54 Radulov is there...I hate the suspension for him...he's a good player. And, not dirty. AND THIS COMING FROM A NASHVILLE HATER!
8:07 And, Preds get on the board first...Suter shot it.
6:22 Vokoun is nuts he left the net...and I lost him.
**CROSBY I HATE YOU AND IF I SEE ONE MORE OF HIS COMMERCIALS I WILL THROW UP**
Fiddler took a penalty for tripping.
4:41 Sharks are having chance after chance.
4:34 Nichol sent it over the glass...should have been a penalty...oh well.
2:57 Preds were able to kill off the penalty...come on sharks.
2:44 Suter just got called for holding. I love him.
1:54 Come on boys...you are better than this...didn't you have one of the best power play units in the regular season?! SCORE...Please...
Uhm....I have no picture on my tv...where did it go? I am sad.
INTERMISSION
I'm showing my friend Rebecca a video...it's exciting maybe I will post it.
There is the video...watch it and love it.
SECOND PERIOD
18:34 Sharks are only down by 1...so hopefully they can tie it up soon. Whoa Vokoun save after save.
17:01 FOPPA THREW A PUNCH AT GRIER!!! WAHOO!!! Forsberg got a penalty for roughing and it's 4 on 4 hockey but the NHL website hasn't put up the Grier penalty.
14:54 Slashing for Suter...why they gotta pick on him. I heart him.
13:50 Come on Sharks power play get it going!!!
**Well Sharks have got nothing going...this is getting depressing**
12:23 I heart Ron Wilson...he is so good. Nothing compared to Hitch...but you know. They are booing Hartnell whoa Grier is a speedy guy.
11:22 SHARKS SCORE THAT IS IT BOYS!!!! Craig Rivet...I LOVE YOU! Uh Rivet didn't score it...it was...MICHALEK...interesting.
10:07 Sharks got some momentum...I love Joe Thornton that is.
Someone from Nashville took a penalty but I don't know who because I got distracted. It was Kariya for slashing the second one of the night.
9:00 Preds got a short handed chance but Nabby made the save! GO NABBY!!
7:42 Clowe just scored!! 2-1 SHARKS!!
6:17 Timonen just took a penalty for holding. It was a 'good' penalty according to VS. This is the 5th power play for Sharks. They have yet to capitalize.
5:36 FIVE ON THREE FOR 1:19 GO SHARKS GO Smithson went off for cross checking!!
4:13 Preds were able to kill off the 5 on 3 so come on Sharks...you need a comfort goal...well I do...
3:00 Please Sharks...I need a goal...Vokoun is playing amazing.
1:46 Forsberg goes off for cross checking on Thornton...Foppa is an angry elf tonight....but I lied he didn't get the penalty it was a Sharks player so Preds are on the power play apparently it was Marleau for cross checking...guess I missed it.
00:00 2-1 SHARKS!!!!
INTERMISSION
I have a feeling this next period is going to be a dirty one...Foppa is pissed we got bodies flying everywhere...and well...yeah...
THIRD PERIOD

17:44 The Sharks fans make me laigh.
16:48 Nabby made a great save
I love Mic'd Up!!!
Tootoo made a mistake...surprise surprise.
14:25 I love Cheech and Joe...they make me happy.
Nashville is going on the power play.
13:59 Michalek took a goalie interference penalty naughty naughty...
12:45 Sharkies kill it off. And, I hate McLarens freakin visor...it's obnoxious.
11:30 GO SHARKS GO!!
7:05 Oh gosh Preds are getting all the momentum...this is worrying me a bit.
4:26 BILL GUERIN!! WOOOO 3-1 SHARKS....it's in the bag! GO SHARKS GO! So kidding...it was Patty's go...but nice move Billy.
2:34 Michalek or however you spell it just took a high stick.
And SHARKS WIN!!!!!
Final score of 3-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONGRATS SHARKS!!!!!!!!!! Good clean game boys!!1
Sharks are up in their series now 2-1.
**Some random notes**
1. Radulov will be back for Game 4
2. Devils lost tonight so Tampa Bay is up 2-1 in the series
3. Sabres won so they are up in the series 2-1.
4. Only ONE of the teams I want to win went up in their series darn it!!

Liveblogging Sharks and Preds
Let's go Sharks!!
PREGAME: Freakin announcer guys drive me nuts!!
I still love playoff hockey and really these 2 teams are great...and it sucks that one of the teams have to go. And, it really is a shame that it will be the Preds...haha. I am really excited to seee what the Sharks do to Hartnell with what happened to Cheech. But, apparently he skated today so maybe he will be back?? Vince and Amy singing the National Anthem...thats sweet...CHEECH IS BACK!!!!!
FIRST PERIOD
19:22 Goc just took a BIG hit. I think I felt it. Guerin and Fiddler were jabbin everybody and they got 2 minutes for unsportsman like conduct.
18:18 Sharks had too many men on the ice...good job guys gosh. Refs will make me angry...it's a 4 on 3
16:15 These announcers are pissing me off...talking about washer and dryers.
15:48 Cheechoo had a shift...I am happy. I don't understand why they don't have Mason in. Silly Trotz.
15:23 Sharks scored...go RIVET!!
13:06 Radulov scored...that kid has some crazy celebrations. His third goal of the post season.
11:57 Jason Arnott 2minutes for high sticking.
9:07 Ryane Clowe 2 minutes for boarding...he feels shame
8:31 Scott Hartnell 2 minutes for tripping
6:33 WOW these teams are amazing at the penalty killing and Cheechoo looks good out there...I was worried.
4:04 FOPPA SCORED!!!!!!!!!! I know I'm cheering for the Sharks but that was a sweet goal. What a hockey player.
2:38 Hear those fans? Poor Nabby you are doing great buddy!
1:01 Radulov and Rivet were going at it. Foppa got hit and is going to the box oh gosh the announcers are angry!! We will wait for the penalty call. Guerin was mad...oh gosh. Trotz is pissed. Everyone is angry. The fans are cheering refs you suck. I guess I will wait to see what the NHL thing says they called. Ok I got it. Guerin for Interference. Rivet Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Forsberg and Hartnell both for diving. They just changed Hartnell's to an unsportsmanlike conduct.
00:00 WOW what a scrum at the end. I really don't like Ehrhoff or however you spell his name.
INTERMISSION
Fiddler said everyone is fighting for position. The key is to get behind the d-men. Good call Vernie good call. HAHA he called Forsberg Foppa...I love it. Forsberg has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Sorry...I had to say it.
Wow, San Jose outshot Nashville 12 - 5 and no penalties were called at the end of the first.
SECOND PERIOD
16:47 Vokoun is making some crazy saves...but I still wish Mason was in.
15:16 Bernier is down...I hope he is ok...Radulov hit him pretty good. They are getting the stretcher out. I really hope he's alright. They aren't using the stretcher Joe and somebody else are helpin him off. This is going to be a brutal period. I think Radulov kind of hit from behind. And Radulov got 5 minutes from hitting from behind and a game misconduct. He deserves it. You don't like seeing players get hurt.
**Learned something new...with majors if they score...the man stays in the box...didn't know that**
12:51 I think there will be a scrum after every whistle. And Tootoo is serving the penalty...cuz well he's used to being in there.
11:14 Guerin is getting a little frisky with Legwand. And, Ryan Suter goes to the box for roughing. And, it will be 1:01 of a 5 on 3. Personally I didn't see Suter do anything...but maybe thats because I have a crush on him.
9:34 Dumont scored! That was a beautiful goal. Maybe they should put in Vesa...I dunno.
9:00 Ryan Suter was just hit from behind and they go to a tv time out perfect...i'm gonna get a snack. Now Nashville is on a 5 on 3. Goc got cross checking and Clowe got roughing!
7:03 Dumont scored on the 5 on 3....with a wide open net. (Predators 4 goals on 9 shots.)
5:26 Now, Foppa goes to box and he will feel shame...for hooking...shame shame...
00:00 Grier and Weber got into it...what a second period. Now hurry up and finish this game...so I can watch the Ducks!!
**The Yankee Canuck is liveblogging the Canucks and Stars game...so check him out**
THIRD PERIOD
20:00 Alright so to start off the third period Grier and Weber each are taking roughing penalties. So I checked the NHL thingy and they took away the penalty to Weber...and Sharks were able to kill off their penalty.
16:59 Bill Guerin got 2 minutes for hooking.
12:57 I am getting frustrated...freakin Sharks you are better than them!!!!!!
12:21 Nabby slashed Kariya and now boys are starting to get angry. Oh sheesh.
10:08 Clowe just scored 4-2 Preds...come on SHARKS!!!
Uhm...apparently I missed something...Preds are on the powerplay. Clowe went off for tripping...good times.
And, Forsberg really does show up in the playoffs. And, Nabby just made a great poke check save...I love those.
2:32 I am getting sad....come on Sharks :(
Well there was a huge fight Hartnell took on Grier...uhm...Tootoo took on Clowe...and Smithson fell on someone. And the game is still not over. They are still trying to sort out penalties. Trotz is lookin annoyed...I think there is like 32 seconds left.
Sp apparently I was wrong 59.3 seconds left. Nashville is going to end on the powerplay. Goodness what a game.
The series is now even 1-1.
Congrats Preds...I hate you.

Playoff Predictions
Since I don't have time to write an actual post as my life is insanely crazy at the moment I will put up my playoff predictions so here we go.
WESTERN CONFERENCE
Detroit and Calgary
I'm going to have to say Calgary in 7. I see Calgary winning this only because of the division they were in...it's a tough one.
Ducks and Wild
Ducks in 6. I love my Ducks team and the Ducks boys...not a doubt in my mind that they will win this series.
Vancouver and Dallas
I want so badly to go with Vancouver but I'm going to have to go with Dallas in 7.
San Jose and Nashville
Wow this is going to be quite the series. I'm going to go with San Jose in 7 only because they are a more complete team than the Preds.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
Buffalo and Islanders
Oh wow...a lot of people are predicting a sweep...but it's going to be Buffalo in 6.
New Jersey and Tampa Bay
Shoot Devils in 5. The only possible way Tampa could win is if they stick both their goalies in net. (No offense Tampa Bay fans)
Rangers and Thrashers
Rangers in 7. Simply because I don't like the Thrashers.
Penguins and Senators
Sens in 5. Crosby won't be able to carry his team through the playoffs...sorry but he won't. Pens don't have the goalie or the defense to help. (Not to mention I HATE SIDNEY CROSBY!!!

I heart my team....
I suppose playoff time is here and I have to decide whether or not I am going to cheer for anyone. So here is the solution that I have come up with. I refuse to cheer for four teams. The first one being of course the Nashville Predators…because as a divisional rival I don’t like them…and my hatred runs deep. The second one is the Dallas Stars. This is a new one for me, with everything that has happened in the past little bit with the organization I have decided that they are a classless organization and that they don’t deserve to win the Stanley Cup and they certainly don’t deserve me to cheer for them. And, besides that Marty Turco seems to be a bit of a joke in the playoffs. Then there is the Pittsburgh Penguins…I know what you’re thinking…they have some of the biggest stars in the game right now why wouldn’t you want them to win. Well it’s simple…I hate Sidney Crosby. And, the last one is none other than the Buffalo Sabres. I don’t like them. So now that I have who, I won’t be cheering for I guess it comes down to whether or not I am going to hop on a bandwagon. Well, no. I refuse, I will cheer for whoever is doing good and who isn’t one of the aforementioned teams. So there ya go…I am hopelessly devoted to my team and will stay that way. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind the Sens winning…I heart Dany Heatley.

I hate the Dallas Stars.
Alright I hate to keep bringing up his name and as much as I can't stand him as a player...I feel like I need to stick up for him. I found this. It breaks down the hit that Jordin Tootoo laid on Modano and then Robidas. You know what Dallas is quickly becoming my least favorite team. I'm getting all kinds of worked up about this organization.

Free Tootoo!!
Alright I want to make it clear what I am not. I am not a Dallas Stars fan. I am not a Nashville Predators fan. I am not a Jordin Tootoo fan by any stretch of the imagination. And, I am not a Mike Modano fan. Now, that that’s out of the way, Mike Modano is now the American with the most goals in the NHL. He accomplished this at the Nashville Arena where they lost to the Predators 3-2. (He had both of the goals) For those of you who have never been to a game in Nashville let me fill you in on some things. Their fans are absolutely brutal. I have gone in there in Red Wings attire and have been brought to tears. At the Red Wings game they called Chris Chelios a sissy, they told me it’d be a good idea to take off my Red Wings attire, and they screamed MacDonald (the goalie at the time) you suck. Now, that’s just the tip of the ice burg with these fans. There is so much more going on there than that…but you get an idea of what their fans are like. And, like any NHL team they have their fan favorites. They love their goalies, and they adore Jordin Tootoo.
Now, let me tell you what happened that night. Jordin Tootoo like he always does had big hits. Hits on everybody. He doesn’t play favorites. Tootoo hit Modano rather hard and quickly turned around because he knows you don’t hit Modano and not have a guy going after you. So Stephane Robidas charged Jordin Tootoo and he looked in the video like he was about to rip Tootoo’s head off, when bam Jordin Tootoo hit Robidas and knocked him out. Now after this Jordin Tootoo looks down and then gets a slash to the back courtesy of Mike Modano. Now, hockey is a violent sport. Everyone knows that but in lieu of recent events with Chris Simon using his hockey stick like a baseball bat…everyone knows you don’t use your stick as a weapon. What Modano did with his stick was wrong. He could have seriously injured Jordin Tootoo…and he got nothing. I am sick of the NHL punishing the NHL “bad boys” and the “golden boys” get nothing. Now, do I agree with the Tootoo suspension? No. I think he was defending himself and doing what Jordin Tootoo does. But, if he got suspended for protecting himself, then Mike Modano should have gotten something for hitting him with his stick.
Ok so let me tell you what happened after this incident. Mike Modano became the American with the most goals….and he got booed. Everyone in the arena saw what he did to Tootoo and they didn’t appreciate it. Then you have the President of the Dallas Stars complaining to the media that it wasn’t announced that Modano broke the record. Well let me be honest here, the fans in Nashville don’t care about Modano. They care about their team and they care about their team winning. Had it been announced about Modano he would have received more boo’s than he had already heard. I am not trying to take away anything from Modano because it was quite the accomplishment. However, after what he did to Tootoo I don’t think that the fans cared about anything that was going on with him.

Holy crap!
Go Jackets GO!!! Well at least we beat the Ducks...in our little California road trip we managed a shootout win over the league leading Anaheim Ducks, and shutout with the San Jose Sharks, and a 5-3 loss to the LA Kings which was a pretty ridiculous game which I really don't care too much about except for the fact that all of our guys were going down like flies! We had Klesla get driven into the boards by Dustin Brown then when Svitov went after him he got 19 minutes of penalties. Then we had Rick Nash get hit in the face with a puck, and then we had Gilbert Brule get hit with a puck. It was quite tragic. Then with the game in San Jose I don't particularly want to talk about it was our 16th time getting shut out in the season and we set a record. It was so horrible we played harder than them and we worked hard but they got the lucky bounces...I just can't believe it. As far as the game with the Ducks well we have basically rocked them every game we have played them so far this season. It was an amazing way to start our road trip but it all went to crap. Anyway, we are meeting the Chicago Blackhawks for the battle of who's going to end up being worse in the Central Division....I really can't wait til next season...it's our year. Alright I gotta run! Goodnight all.
AND.....with all that's going on in the world of Jordin Tootoo the man that I hate the most in the National Hockey League I am going to stand up for him...if he does get suspended then Mike Modano should also...I do agree that Tootoo shouldn't have hit that guy...but Modano with the stick I do believe that Chris Simon just got 25 games for using his stick as a weapon and that is exactly what Modano did....but will the NHL punish the golden boy...I doubt it....Colin Campbell is a JOKE!!!!!!

I try so hard...
I try really hard to be supportive of my boys and ya know what...it's time to call them out. The past 2 games Norrena has stood on his head for these guys. And, well we just haven't gotten the offense. The goalies job is to give the other players a chance to win. There is no reason why we can't score 3 or 4 goals in a night. People need to stand up and it's like Hitch always says "Our best players need to be our best players" and quite frankly they haven't done it. Vyborny, Nash, Modin, and Fedorov need to step it up. I don't have such a problem with Fedorov because to be honest he is playing really well. Last night against Dallas he was hitting, getting rough with guys, and was taking some hits. Then tonight against Nashville he was playing on the blue line...and he did an amazing job. But, Nash, and Vyborny need to step it up. Modin...from what the announcers have told us has been injured and playing on a hurt food or ankle or something. Anyway, I'm just really disappointed in my team...but I still love them. And, just to be clear...I am in NO WAY talking smack about the goalie, Fredrik Norrena!
And, some idiot wore a Leafs jersey to the game...a Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets game...way to be skill.
AND, look at this video...there is a quote that Tootoo says he's not a dirty player...what a joke.

So close yet so far..
So Ken Hitchcock coached his 800th NHL game tonight. I just can’t even express how happy I am to have this man as the Blue Jackets coach. Next year is our year I’m just sure of it. The first period Adam Foote and Jordin Tootoo had a bit of a tussle. But, Foote being a very large and strong man was able to simply pin Tootoo against the boards. Nashville ended up getting a goal on the power play. Paul Kariya scored on the power play. Ty Conklin is in net for the Jackets. Everyone is pretty aware that I love Ty Conklin. He is a good goal tender and I think he deserves to stay up. Anyway, Foote took another penalty a roughing penalty…but I’m pretty sure that Erat just kind of fell and Foote didn’t do anything. I like what Adam Foote said during the intermission interview…he said Nashville likes to win games in the first 10 minutes of a game, that’s totally true. I have seen these guys play I can’t even tell you how many times and they like making an impression. But then Foote said, “We played better than they did in the first period, and they had more power play opportunities.” I’m so happy he’s our captain…what would I do without him. Marc Methot is playing his first NHL game. He seems to be doing a pretty good job…and he’s a cute little guy. I am hoping the reason he is up is because Berard will be out.
Going into the second period we were down 1-0. But entering the second we were on a power play. We ended up scoring a power play goal to make it 1-1. Modin got the goal. Dumont got the go ahead goal about a minute after we scored the tiebreaker. Let’s hope that Columbus gets things back on track. Well Fiddler just made it 3-1. I think Johnson is having a bad night because both of these goals can be blamed on him…well I don’t want to say blamed but he could have cleared the zone. Nash really is becoming a great two-way player. Last night he got his first short-handed goal, which is pretty impressive. Dan Fritsche got hurt he has a lacerated wrist they didn’t announce the severity of it but he won’t be back for the rest of the game.
Going into this period we are 3-1…lets hope the Jackets can get something going. And we got a goal from an unlikely source. Shelley got his first goal of the season!! I’m so proud. Our rough and tough guy got it. Lets just hope we can get another one. Tootoo just hit the crap out of Zherdev. I hate Tootoo he pisses me off every single time he steps out on the ice. He is such a dirty player and he claims he’s not. I would love to know where he heard that one. Let’s hope the Jackets can get this going and beat the Preds because it’s something we have yet to do. And Hainsey ties it up it’s now 3 all. It’s starting to look up for the Jackets. We really are a good hockey team. I love these guys…I know our playoff hopes are shot but we still are playing pretty well. I just hope that we can get a regulation win against these Preds. Brule had a great shot on goal heading down right at the net. Raced down even got tripped up a bit and took a shot when he was mid air.
And we are heading into over time. We do pretty well on 4-4 I think. So let’s see how we do. Well we out played them pretty much the entire game and that didn’t change during over time. It was still tied so we’re going into a shootout. I hate shootouts…they make me so nervous. I hope Conks stays with it. Well we lost in a shootout and I am sad. We deserved the win…and I’m not just saying that. Oh and random fact Tootoo took a number at the end of the game. How funny is that?! What a punk.
