Meet Ole-Kristian Tollefsen!!

I couldn't resist putting this picture up...it made me laugh. Anyway, meet Ole-Kristian Tollefsen our blossoming defenseman. Ole was born March 29, 1984 in Oslo, Norway. He was drafted in the 2002 Draft in the 3rd round 65th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets. He spent two seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL before beginning his pro career in the 2004-2005 season. He split that season playing 2 games with the ECHL's Dayton Bombers and 64 games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch. Ole is a defensive defenseman who plays hard every night. He was a surprise this season...with 70 games played 2 goals and 3 assists and was a plus/minus +2 and had 123 penalty minutes. TSN breaks him down like this:

Assets: Loves to lay on the body and displays a wealth of toughness and aggression along the blueline. Has the makings of a sound defensive defenseman.
Flaws: Needs to improve his all-around skills, since he's below average with the puck. Must learn when to pick his spots in the hitting department.
Tollefsen is one of many bright spots in the Jackets youth, and I look forward to seeing him the next two years in the Blue Jackets uniform, and hopefully for longer than that. On November 10th Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and Patrick Thoresen became the first Norwegians to play against each other.
