Bye Bye Boucher!!

I know he only played a few games for us but I liked Brian Boucher. Boucher signed yesterday with the Philadelphia Flyers to play for the AHL Affiliate the Phantoms. I seriously wish him the best of luck in Philly...and who knows maybe I will head up to see him play :) By the way Kristin you better love him!!

Oh Mr. Howson

Please don't give us false hope. I was reading the Dispatch today and I read a quote by Mr. Howson that made me really happy...he said,

"I won't shy away from making any move that will make this club better."
Isn't it always the little things like that, that give you confidence in your team. I seriously love this guy now. I am really happy to have him as our GM. I am VERY excited about the Draft this year and to see what he does. We all know that there is going to be some crazy things go down on Friday night. If Monday was any indication with the Nashville Predators giving the Philadelphia Flyers exclusive negotiating rights to Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen...what did the Predators get? Well their first round draft pick that they gave the Flyers for Foppa. And, with the Nashville Predators current owner not wanting to spend his money on these guys there is going to be a sell off...or so everyone is predicting and I am with them in believing this...even though I think it is ridiculous. Especially since we are already hearing how Detroit will be playing without any competition in their division.

Why is Marty Biron my new best friend?!

That's why...it doesn't get much better than a goalie making fun of Sidney Crosby...hahaha big props to Kristin for finding this one...

Upshall > Forsberg??

Well if you'd have to go by the first 2 games that these guys played in you would probably think so. Upshall in his first 2 games with Philadelphia has 3 points (2 goals and 1 assist) and Mr. Peter Forsberg has well a goose egg. Alright, I watched the Philadelphia vs Boston game tonight on Versus and it was quite entertaining...this rivalry certainly is still going strong today. Everyone played wonderfully. There were quite a few scrums...anyway not a whole lot to say about this game. Boston won 6-3. Both teams made wonderful efforts and fought really hard. Jeff Carter, Scottie Upshall and Kyle Calder were for sure the high points for the Flyers. That's a great line. Anyway I am off...have a great night everyone.

Why the Preds, Peter...why?!

Anyone who knows me...or who reads this blog knows how much I hate the Preds. So it shouldn't come as a shock to you that I'm not a fan of this trade one bit. Granted that yes in future years it will help the Flyers...and having Forsberg on their line up will help the Preds. I really feel bad for the Flyers team as a whole though. They lost their captain...pretty much the heart and soul of their team. (I say that because the Flyers have yet to win a game without Peter Forsberg in the line up) I feel bad for the fans. I heard a trade rumor that Adam Foote could leave Columbus and I was just heartbroken. The guy on the ice that wears the C wears it for a reason. He is the leader. Congrats to Nashville on the trade...however I think they gave up too much...Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, a FIRST round draft pick, and a third round draft pick. Seems like a little much for a rental player...who you have no guarantee that the man is playing at his full potential. They are throwing it all in there. If they don't get it this year, Nashville will have to start rebuilding I think....and who wants to do that?! Anyway, its late...I gotta go to bed...night all.

Where oh where is Forsberg going?!

Forsberg...has been the topic of trade rumors recently...and now I see why. I am not going to lie I had never seen him play. But, tonight I watched as he and the last place Flyers took on the Detroit Red Wings...and was quite impressed. Now, I could make excuses saying the reason why Detroit lost was because MacDonald was in net but I'm not going to. The Flyers deserved to win that game. The Flyers had a two power play goals...which I think is amazing. I am thoroughly impressed with the Flyers. It seemed to me in this game at least that the NHL's worst team had some great plays that I saw develop wonderfully. And, that was just from me sitting on the couch watching it on tv I couldn't imagine being there. The game was full of hits...well maybe not full of them but they were definitely quite a few hard hits. I was amazed. My mom said at the start of the game well I think Detroit is going to just beat up on the Flyers and to be honest that's what I expected as well. The first period Detroit opened the scoring and I thought here we go. Soon the Flyers evened it up. In the second the score remained the same. I am not sure what the Flyer's coach said to them in between periods but he really got them going. Forsberg opened the scoring on a power play...and then they scored 4 more un answered goals. Quite impressive...if I do say so myself. Just to clarify I am not a Flyer's fan still...but I am a little more anxious to see where Mr. Forsberg goes at the trade deadline to see what he can do in the playoff's this year. Oh one last thing about this game...Michael Leighton played really really well. I thought he kept them in the game...and he didn't even get a star...but he was a star in my book haha....ok that's all.

And, on another note....Ray Emery was Suspended....which in all honesty he deserved....uhm...the video is in french....so yeah....

Oh, and to the Sens...good luck with Gerber in net the next three games....

And, to my Wings....get Osgood and Hasek better fast!!!! Especially Osgood....I miss him....

Ok I have a lot to say...

So here we go...I just wanted to have the complete "all star" roster on here....cuz I said I would and I would talk about it.

Eastern Conference:

Goal:
Martin Brodeur New Jersey
Cristobal Huet Montreal

Defense:
Jay Bouwmeester Florida
Zdeno Chara Boston
Tomas Kaberle Toronto
Brian Rafalski New Jersey

Forward:
Jason Blake New York Islanders
Simon Gagne Philadelphia
Dany Heatley Ottawa
Marian Hossa Atlanta
Vincent Lecavalier Tampa Bay
Martin St. Louis Tampa Bay
Brendan Shanahan New York Rangers
Eric Staal Carolina
Justin Williams Carolina

I feel alright about the Eastern Conference fillers....I love Brodeur like I said yesterday...and Huet is decent. On Defense it looks good to me. I love the fact that Jason Blake and Sidney Crosby will be on the same team....hahaha...I hate Crosby so much. Now notice I didn't say I didn't think that Sidney Crosby was a bad player but I think that the NHL has promoted him to the point that he is just annoying now. I absolutely LOVE Alexander Ovechkin...and am so happy that he now has his own commercial so I can stop looking at Crosby.

Now for the Western Conference fillers:

Goal:
Miikka Kiprusoff Calgary
Marty Turco Dallas

Defense:
Philippe Boucher Dallas
Dion Phaneuf Calgary
Kimmo Timonen Nashville
Lubomir Visnovsky Los Angeles

Forward:
Bill Guerin St. Louis
Martin Havlat Chicago
Patrick Marleau San Jose
RICK NASH Columbus
Yanic Perreault Phoenix
Brian Rolston Minnesota
Teemu Selanne Anaheim
Ryan Smyth Edmonton
Henrik Zetterberg Detroit

Now...I absolutely love this Western Conference line up...I guess I'm a little bias. I love Dion Phaneuf....and I am so excited that Rick Nash is going to be in the game. He deserves it. He is doing so much better now that Hitch has taken over and has become a more complete player...in fact there was an article about it...let me find it...Check it out! I thought it was amazing. Anyway I'm glad that Teemu Selanne is in there and agree with everyone else that it's stupid that Cheech is in over him. Anyway the "All Star" is next week. I don't plan on watching...not too interested.

Here's a little rant about my Blue Jackets...the boys are starting to come back...last night in our win over Chicago we had Foote back and Fedorov and I believe Svitov was back as well. Mr. Nash is expected to return on Thursday for our game against Nashville. And then on Friday we are taking on the Red Wings at home...I cant bring myself to watch these games...I don't know who to cheer for...makes me sad.

Also, I do want to give a bit of a shout out to some of my favorite podcasts...one is The Habs Cast...who have a link on my side...and the other one is The Crazy Canucks...these two podcasts are in my opinion the best one's out there. I love listening to them I don't get bored...and I love hearing them talk about their teams. You can subscribe to them on iTunes.

Ok...now for my little section about the Ducks...anyone who knows me...knows I love the Ducks...it's just one of those things...however...for some reason when they are at home...and playing some of the worst teams in the NHL...they tend to lose...and not just lose...but lose is some crazy unheard of way....earlier this season...on November 15...they lost to the Flyers 7-4....that is the worst team in the NHL. Then on January 4th...they lost to my beloved Blue Jackets...4-3....this may not seem like a big difference but all of the Jackets goals were in the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period...then last night...they lost 6-2....to the St. Louis Blues...totally killing me. I don't know what's going on with the Ducks...you'd think they would have enough depth on their team to still be winning without Pronger...but apparently not...but they need to seriously step it up.

Anyway, I suppose that is enough for the night...let me know what you think Crosby or Ovechkin??
